Keith Kilmer is an investigator for Norman A. Traub Associates, an organization specializing in investigations involving sexual harassment, employee dishonesty and other acts of misconduct, excessive force complaints, hostile work environment, executive background investigations and training in governmental ethics. Investigator Kilmer’s primary focus is governmental entities: Cities, Counties, Special Districts, Colleges and School Districts. He also is an instructor for California State University, Long Beach, PMW Associates and made presentations for California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST). Mr. Kilmer has published article in the Police Chief Magazine.
Mr. Kilmer is the immediate past Chair of the California Police Chiefs Association of the Standards and Ethics Committee. He also served on a mission to study security/terrorism in Israel and El Salvador.
Mr. Kilmer is an attorney and a member of the California Bar Association.
GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE: Retired as the Police Chief of San Bernardino and also served as the Chief of Police of the Bell Gardens Department and a Commander of Long Beach Police Department. He has experience in all major units of the Long Beach Police Department and served as a patrol officer, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, captain and commander. He personally conducted workplace misconduct investigations and was in charge of the internal investigation unit.
EDUCATION: He earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from Western States University College of Law, BS Degree from the Western State University, Executive Management Certificate, West Point Leadership Academy, FBI National Academy, California Command College.
