Joanne Sumalpong, a seasoned attorney, has been licensed to practice law in California since June 1989. With her initial focus on family litigation, she honed her expertise during her tenure as an Associate Attorney at Eskin & Jackson, LLP, where she worked from 1989 to 1999 under the mentorship of Principal and former California State Senator, Hannah-Beth Jackson. In 2000, Joanne co-founded Sumalpong & Sumalpong, LLP, with Stanley D. Sumalpong, concentrating on personal injury and family law. Following Mr. Sumalpong's passing in December 2004, the firm transformed into Sumalpong & Sumalpong, APC. Joanne expanded her legal repertoire by adding independent workplace investigations to her practice and, since 2019, has served as the President of Sumalpong Law, APC, with a primary focus on San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties.
In addition to her extensive legal career, Joanne has actively maintained her membership in the California State Bar since 1989. Her commitment to professional development is evident in her completion of the Professional Certificate Program in Human Resources Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in June 2018. Furthermore, she obtained certification from the Association of Workplace Investigators Training Institute in November 2019, solidifying her proficiency in conducting independent workplace investigations.
